Steeped in history, the building was formerly the main telegraph office, and the basement of the building housed one of the largest pneumatic mail tube systems in Europe. Lovingly restored and modernized, the historically listed building reopened as Telegraphenamt in 2022 to enrich the neighborhood around Hackesche Höfe, Auguststrasse and Torstrasse with its diverse offerings of culture, venue and gastronomy.
The lavishly restored historic building boasts 97 rooms and maisonettes, destination restaurant ROOT, ROOT bar, where chic ambience meets eclectic cocktail art, meeting and event spaces, a private members club, state of the art gym and spa.
